Within the framework of the “Albania wins education” program, the leader of DP, Lulzim Basha and his team of education experts, held an online meeting with the Commissioner of the EU for Innovation, Education and Youth, Maria Gabriel.

Basha presented his online education platform, which includes free courses in 5 different languages, for every Albanian citizen.

“A plan, which is ready to commence and that starts with a very simple but necessary step. The first step is offering language courses online, free of charge for all Albanians under 35 years old. We will offer 5 different languages, English, German, French, Italian and Spanish,” said Basha.

Another aspect of Basha’s education plan are the professional training programs in at least 20 different disciplines, designed in collaboration with the Modul University of Vienna.

Commissioner Gabriel stated that the education of the youth is one of the priorities and challenges of the European Union and the EU supports this approach. Gabriel also added that from the fund of 26 billion euros for Erasmus programs, the Western Balkans will profit greatly.

“Allow me to mention that the new budget for our Erasmus program + 26 billion euros for the next phase will provide for even more possibilities, which in turn means more possibilities for Albania and the Western Balkans,” she stated.

According to Gabriel, these initiatives aim to keep the younger generations from leaving their countries and to adapt their abilities to the job market.
