The Technical Committee of Experts gathered this Wednesday to assess the current situation and tendencies of the pandemic in Albania.  The vice- Minister of Health, Mira Rakacolli stated that the current restricting measures will be remaining in force for at least the following two weeks.

“The Committee has decided to keep in force for another two weeks, the measures that have until now shown to be effective,” said Rakacolli.

Measures in force:

Police curfew-hours from 20:00 p.m.-06:00 a.m.

Bars and restaurants will operate until 20:00 p.m.

Lessons continue online.

Flights to and from the UK remain suspended.

Gatherings of more than 10 people are prohibited.

Rakacolli also emphasized that recently the COVID-19 infection rate has dropped and according to her, this has come as a result of the restricting measures.

“These numbers show a falling tendency and the Committee is of the opinion that they have come as a direct result of the measures and the compliance to them by the population,” added Rakacolli.

Starting from tomorrow, the electoral campaign will commence in Albania, but the Technical Committee of Experts has made it clear that at least for the next 2 weeks, gatherings larger than 10 people, will not be allowed.
